As part of a social media-heavy campaign to reach out to millennials, the global Catholic network Aleteia.org has commissioned a popemoji keyboard from Swyft Media for users to celebrate the pontiff’s historical visit to the United States. Oh yes, our dear pope is active on social media.
One of his tweets was: “Are you angry with someone?”
Most of his tweets get over 10,000 retweets and many responses. There is even a Pope Emoji app available. For the last two days, there have been already 183,000 mentions about this events and Twitter is the top leader for usage in new site and Blogs and other stuff.
Like the special emoji it rolled out for the World Cup, you’ll need to use a hashtag in a published tweet for the emoji to appear.
