Twitter makes tweeting more than 140-characters easy
“So, you can already do a lot in a tweet, but we want you to be able to do even more”. All Twitter have said is that the changes will become available “over the coming months”. “Featuring photos, videos, hashtags, Vines, and more”.

However, under the changes, media such as images and polls will no longer make up part of the character count, allowing users and brands to say more in them. On Tuesday morning, Twitter revealed their plans to change what counts towards a user’s 140 characters tweet limit. Although it was previously announced that tweets would be expanding beyond the traditional 140 characters, other changes are on the horizon.
“One of the biggest priorities for this year is to refine our product and make it simpler”, said Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, in a blog post.
When you add attachments like photos, GIFs, videos, polls, or Quote Tweets.
“What we want to do is make the Twitter experience for those who use Twitter every single day more dynamic, faster, more interesting, more expressive”.
Regarding the change, some Twitter users were happy.
What’s more, the microblogging platform is doing away with.@, a workaround that people have used for tweets that start with a username.
