Twitter names AmEx executive Leslie Berland as CMO
While one obvious area where this could be leveraged is in advertising and building new kinds of services and experiences for different brands to interface with Twitter’s audience, it’s also interesting to ponder how and if this could be built up for Twitter’s other ambitions to do more in B2B services. She will be taking over the reins from CFO Anthony Noto, who has been handling marketing in an interim fashion for the past eight months, according to Re/Code.

Twitter has appointed American Express executive Leslie Berland as its new marketing chief.
Twitter will look to Berland to help reboot growth for the brand.
Berland started working at American Express in 2005 as the company’s vice president of corporate communications.
News of Berland’s hiring comes only a day after four Twitter executives left the company.
Shares of Twitter were up 1.8% in pre-market trading Tuesday.
Mr. Dorsey is revamping his top ranks as he tries to find ways to revive the social media company and earn the trust of investors.

The San Francisco social media company announced Monday the departure of Alex Roetter, senior vice president of engineering; Brian “Skip” Schipper, vice president of human resources; Katie Stanton, vice president of global media; and Kevin Weil, senior vice president of product. The company has made several changes, including adding a Moments section to compile the best tweets about breaking news events on the site. Twitter reported 320 million monthly active users last quarter, up from 316 million the quarter before.
