Twitter reacts to Greg Schiano’s job at Ohio State
Interestingly enough, Schiano spent 11 seasons as the head coach of Rutgers, who just hired Buckeyes defensive coordinator Chris Ash away from Meyer.

Greg Schiano will be back on the college football sideline.
Former Rutgers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano is about to become Ohio State’s new defensive coordinator, according to an ESPN report.
Schiano hasn’t coached since his departure from the Bucs, but he has been connected to recent openings at Miami, South Carolina and UCF.
A source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Schiano also would be named associate head coach.
He may have failed as a National Football League head coach, but he can coach defense and that’s what he’ll be asked to do at Ohio State with the hopes of rehabbing his image and giving him a shot at another head coaching job in the coming years.
Schiano took over the Rutgers program in 2001, and in a few years, he did something that no one really thought anyone could do, that being turning the Scarlet Knights into a legitimate threat on the gridiron.

Schiano is expected to work closely with the existing Buckeye defensive brain trust comprised of linebackers coach/defensive coordinator Luke Fickell and cornerbacks coach Kerry Coombs. Schiano was an occasional visitor to Ohio State practices the last couple of years. But Tampa Bay allowed the most passing yards per game (267.6) during that same period.
