In a move aimed at persuading more young internet-type people to use Twitter, Jack Dorsey and friends are integrating Gif search into its social network, following many messaging apps’ footsteps.

Twitter added support for GIFs way back in 2014, but you had to find them on a separate site and upload them yourself. It’s possible to search the GIF library by keyboard or browse different categories of reactions like Mic Drop, Happy Dance and even YOLO.

We’re creeping closer to a time when all human communication can be conducted via GIFs, and we’re not going to lie, it’s super exciting.

GIF search will roll out to users globally over the coming weeks. The company is adding the feature thanks to integrations with GIF search engine Giphy and GIF keyboard outfit Riffsy.

“So much can be expressed with GIFs, and the key is to find just the right one in the moment that quickly and efficiently expresses your emotions”, said David McIntosh, CEO and co-founder of Riffsy.

Finding the flawless GIF to tweet or send via DM will now be easier than ever thanks to Twitter’s new GIF search feature. “We’re excited to explore this partnership with Twitter and watch Twitter users discover and share their favorite GIFs in their daily lives”.
