Twitter seems intent on increasing the character limit for tweets
The social media platform Twitter is known for many things, but its most defining feature is the 140 character limit imposed upon everyone’s hourly thoughts. The 10,000-character limit for tweets is the same feature already utilized by Twitter for its Direct Messages product.

Dorsey said, “We’re not going to be shy about building more utility and power into Twitter for people”.
According to the sources familiar with the company’s plans, the potential launch date would target towards the end of Q1 of this year.
However, the final limit of characters may also fluctuate before the final product arrives, hence, people and engineers inside Twitter are referring it as #Beyond140. At the time, the company said the removal of the 140-character limit on DMs didn’t indicate that it was considering doing the same for tweets, but it appears that the San Francisco firm has now decided otherwise. “Text that could be searched. CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey, meanwhile, revealed his intentions in a tweet posted on Tuesday. Text that could be highlighted.
In the past year, Twitter felt increasing pressure to boost user growth and ad revenue.
Twitter is going to completely change the micro blogging site.
Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter believes an increased limit on tweets would be a “good, baby step” to attracting more users to Twitter and believes it could be done without alienating the service’s current audience. “We’re continuing to explore ways to surface the best content for people using Twitter”, a company spokeswoman was quoted as saying.
After all, this is what 10,000 characters would look like.

The tech company is attempting to grow beyond its 300 million-strong user base, and many are skeptical that Twitter will be able to do that successfully enough to address the elephant in the boardroom: Facebook.
