Twitter Went In on Wendy Williams for Asking About Historically White Colleges

On Wednesday, she criticized the actor’s remarks in a controversial talk show segment that quickly ignited a great deal of outrage on social media.. Although she called his speech poignant, she did say that she would in fact be offended if there was a college that was known as historically white, since there are historically black colleges.

The HBCU community looking at Wendy Williams right now like…

“On yesterday’s show, a lot of you all misinterpreted some of the things I was saying regarding black, black schools, being black in the world, being a human being”.

In the petition, which has collected more than 23,000 signatures as of this writing, Williams is accused of “racist hate speech” against police and white people. You might feel amusing about that.

Sadly, Wendy doesn’t get it. We don’t have white organizations and colleges because we don’t need them.

“We’ve been floating this country on credit for centuries, yo, and we’re done watching and waiting while this invention called whiteness uses and abuses us, burying black people out of sight and out of mind while extracting our culture, our dollars, our entertainment like oil”, he continued.

Not only did her audience leave her out to dry, but so did Black Twitter when they said it like they meant it in 140 characters or less. “Racism sucks and we can all do better in our own households, educating our children to make to make it better”.

Wendy Williams needs to keep a shoe in her mouth as much as she sticks her foot in there.

Williams sat on her platform which caters to millions and alluded the the very existence of the NAACP and HBCUs.

#WendyWilliams has taken her ignorance to new & unimaginable heights.

But the daytime talk show host’s response was faced with controversy in itself over comments she made about historically black colleges and the NAACP!
