Twitter will soon let users broadcast video within tweets via Periscope
Right now, only a small percentage of Twitter users will see this new feature but according to the official statement from the company, in the next few months, “all users will have the ability to start a Periscope broadcast from Twitter”.

Twitter acquired the video streaming app, Periscope, in 2015 for $100 million, and has kept it independent, ever since. All you need to do is tap the “Go Live” button on Twitter, and you are streaming in real time using Periscope. This integration with the live-streaming platform brings Twitter closer to parity with Facebook in terms of user experience.
Twitter for Android users have reported seeing a “Go Live” button when they compose Tweets, The Verge reported. The company is now testing the feature as it has launched it for a small number of users, and has plans to roll it out to the masses in the near future.
It’s only for Android – and is being sampled by a small group of users – but it’s a unique way to get us streaming more (as if we needed to). The feature started as a VIP-only release and was rolled out to the general public at the start of this year. Some users are seeing a dedicated button for starting live broadcasts, which fits nicely with streams playing in your timeline.

It seems like this move, is part of the company’s bigger plan to retain its users, from switching to another platform. Twitter now has only 310 million users, on its platform.
