In a letter to her uncle on Thursday, the woman complained that she had been given some drug before being raped, so she could not fight back, NDTV reported.
A woman undergoing treatment for dengue at a prominent hospital in Gandhinagar was allegedly raped by a doctor, police said on Friday. The police have also confirmed that she was heavily drugged and managed to reveal what had happened only yesterday.
“Two people have been arrested after a dengue patient was allegedly raped by doctor and hospital ward boy in Ahmedabad”.
Based on the complaint, police had lodged a case under section 376 (C)(D) of the Indian Penal Code for rape and subsequently arrested Vankar and Chauhan, said Pandya. Hospital medical superintendent, Piyasa Nath, said police is investigating the matter and the hospital is cooperating with cops. “The ward where the incident took place has 14 staff members working round the clock, and is equipped with CCTV cameras”.
