Donald Trump’s tweet on the shooting death of NBA basketball star Dwyane Wade’s cousin drew scorn and outrage for not including condolences for her death and for misspelling Wade’s first name.

Nykea Aldridge’s famous relative, who grew up in Chicago’s south suburbs, tweeted to his almost 6 million followers about her death, saying Friday it was an “act of senseless gun violence” and posting Saturday morning that Chicago needs “more help& more hands on deck”. The investigation revealed that Aldridge was not the intended target of the shooting but suffered the fatal wounds during an exchange of gunfire between two men.
Police said, the Sorells brothers were targeting a for-hire driver, because he was not from the area.
“The endless gun violence in places like Chicago, Dallas, not to mention Orlando, it has to stop; enough”, Wade said. “When will enough be enough?”
Johnson called on legislators to “get serious” when it comes to Chicago’s gun problem, saying until repeat offenders ‘are put in jail and kept there, we’re going to keep running in circles on this’.
Wade has reacted to his cousin’s shooting only online, tweeting Friday: “My cousin was killed today in Chicago”.
The only public comment Dwyane Wade has made regarding the tragic slaying of his cousin has been by way of Twitter, CLTV wrote that he sent out a series of tweets on Saturday about the senseless shooting, beginning with a simple “RIP Nykea Aldridge…” Four kids lost their mom for no reason. There have been 487 homicides and more than 2,800 people shot in the city so far this year, compared to 491 homicides all of last year and 2,988 people shot, according to the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Police Department. “Police officers rarely see crime in person, so we need the community’s help, we need their input”.
Nykea Aldridge, 32, was caught in crossfire and shot in the head and arm while leaving a school in Chicago on Friday afternoon.
“She wasn’t aware her short life would stand as an example of what is a clear failure of the criminal justice system here in Chicago”, said Eddie Johnson, the police superintendent. “Unreal. #EnoughIsEnough”, he tweeted Friday.
Dwyane wade has long spoken out against the violence here in Chicago. His nephew, Darin Johnson, was shot twice in the leg in 2012 but recovered, according to The Associated Press.
He and his mother, Jolinda Wade, a Chicago pastor, also participated in an ESPN discussion on gun violence in America that was recorded at a YMCA in Chicago.

“If you have a magic bullet to solve Chicago gun violence.then please, share it with us”, he said. “I can’t bring her back but I forgive them, and I just pray to God that they pray to God to ask forgiveness for what they’ve done”.
