Officials have released more information about the plane crash that took the lives of two Colgate students Sunday.

The university identified them as Cathryn Depuy and Ryan Adams, both 19-year-olds from Ridgefield, Connecticut.
They were the only passengers on board, and it was not clear which victim was piloting the plane.
The pair rented the Cessna from Hamilton Municipal Airport yesterday afternoon and made it just 10 miles after takeoff before someone aboard sent a distress signal, according to the Syracuse news station WSYR.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office says Depuy was piloting the single engine Cessna-150.
However, the Federal Aviation Administration (or FAA) is taking the lead in trying to determine the cause of the plane crash in Morrisville.
“The Colgate community is mourning”, the university added, saying that counselling would be available for students affected by the tragedy. Counselors and chaplains were being made available in the school’s chapel Monday.

Colgate officials have postponed or canceled some of Monday’s campus events and a vigil is planned for 7:30 p.m.
