It said the plane was 100 per cent alight upon arrival.
The chairmen of West Ham United said they were fortunate not to be on the doomed aircraft which crashed in Essex yesterday, killing the two crew on board.
According to the BBC, the aircraft was an eight seater, but only two individuals were on board.
Speaking near the crash site, Detective Chief Inspector Ronnie Egan said: “I can confirm the reports that a light aircraft earlier on today very sadly crashed off Gravel Lane in Chigwell”. A response auto from Herts Air Ambulance is also in attendance.
The captain had extensive experience of flying King Air aircraft and was a Civil Aviation Authority flying examiner.
“Crews are wearing breathing apparatus and using two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire”.
We woud urge people not to attend the scene.
A spokesman for Stapleford Aerodrome, around five miles from the crash, said the aircraft’s route itinerary did not include its premises.
Sources at the scene said that the plane was carrying two passengers, neither of whom survived.
