Two dead in Vernon County house fire
Two people died yesterday in a house fire near Valley, a community in the town of Forest, according to Vernon County Sheriff John Spears.

Authorities say the fire was reported around 7 a.m. Monday but house in the Town of Forest was already fully engulfed in flames and almost burnt to the ground.
Firefighters from Hillsboro and Lafarge, EMS from Hillsboro, the Wisconsin Fire Marshal’s Office and Vernon County Emergency Management and the Coroner’s Office were at the scene.
Authorities are not releasing the names of the two killed pending notification of family.
Anyone with information about the house fire or anyone who drove past the house on Sunday or early Monday is asked to contact the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office at 800-637-2123.

Police are investigating two deaths that occurred after a fatal fire in Hilllsboro early Monday morning. The first call was at 6:53 a.m.; and second, at 6:56 a.m. He added that they’re expecting autopsy results within a week.
