Three types of National Merit Scholarships will be offered in the spring of 2016.
The students’ dedication to excellence and their hard work in preparing for the rigorous academic testing program is to be lauded.
“Scoring in the top one percent of competitors in any endeavor is a tremendous accomplishment”, said Dr. Matt Haas, ACPS Assistant Superintendent of Schools.
Approximately 1.5 million high school juniors from more than 22,000 high schools in the United States enter the program each year by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT exam.
With the rising costs of tuition, scholarships are a major part of most college-bound student’s lives.
The application must include the semifinalist’s academic record, participation in school and community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment, and honors and awards received.
