Two men charged in Chicago shooting death of Dwyane Wade’s cousin
A tweet from her National Basketball Association star cousin Dwyane Wade came shortly after, honoring and paying his respects to the family member he had so suddenly lost.

Aldridge, 32, was pushing a stroller on the city’s South Side on Friday afternoon when two men exchanged gunfire nearby, hitting her in the arm and the head, according to police.
Police have not said why the shooting occurred, but they believe Aldridge was an innocent victim caught in the crossfire.
A security guard at the school helped police identify one of the suspects and the driver also cooperated with police, Deenihan said. “When will enough be enough?”
Family spokesman Pastor Edward Jones told NBC Chicago that Aldridge was just looking for a better life.
Johnson has held up the brothers as prime examples of “repeat offenders who … clearly don’t face the consequences of their actions”.
467 people have been killed in Chicago so far this year.
Since the incident, Wade sent out a tweet, where he called for an end to these senseless shootings. One got out in February, and the other was released just over two weeks ago.
We’ve written from time to time about America’s under-incarceration problem – the fact that criminals whose records clearly show they should be in jail are instead free and on the streets committing violent crimes, including some very bloody, high-profile ones.
It is not the first time Dwyane Wade’s family in Chicago has been affected by gun violence.
According to the Chicago Tribune, which chronicles every homicide in the city, at least 455 people have been shot to death in Chicago in the first seven and a half months of the year. She was near the school because she planned to register some of her four children, police said. Guglielmi said on Twitter that Derren Sorells is a “documented member of the Gangster Disciples” and is on parole, while Darwin Sorells is a co-conspirator and also on parole for a gun charge. When Tapper noted that police say many guns from Indiana make their way into the city, Pence replied: “In Indiana, we know what most Americans know, is that law – that firearms in the hands of law-abiding citizens makes our communities more safe, not less safe”.
Hours later, Trump followed up with a Tweet that offered condolences to Wade’s family. “Just what I have been saying”.
One of Trump’s highest profile supporters defended the tweet, calling it fair comment considering that Chicago, which has always been governed by the Democratic Party, has some of the worst gun violence in the country.
