Taylor and Watson both face charges of burglary and theft, among other charges. All but the last charge are felonies. Prosecutors have filed a request with the court that seeks to enhance the murder charge Taylor faces, citing that she was pregnant at the time of her killing.
The arrests of Larry Jo Taylor and Jalen Watson have prompted mixed emotions as he grapples with the November 10 attack on his wife, Davey Blackburn told ABC News’ “Good Morning America” today. Chief Rick Hite praised the cooperation that led to the arrest. Inside it was DNA evidence linking Watson, and eventually Taylor, to Blackburn’s murder.

Curry said there was no reason to believe that the Blackburns knew the two men who are charged.
A witness allegedly told detectives that later in the day, Taylor told him, another witness and the other suspects that Blackburn charged him and he shot her “so he would not be scratched”, according to the affidavit.
Taylor, who authorities allege fatally shot 28-year-old Amanda Blackburn earlier this month, appeared distracted, swiveling back and forth in his chair. “He leaned further, looked at her face, and watched her bleed”, a detective wrote in the affidavit.
The arrests came 10 days after top police officials vowed to bring the killer to justice. “We will make that decision probably this week”, Curry said.
“When officers arrived, they located the victim at the home, unresponsive, and suffering from apparent signs of trauma”, the release said.
Amanda Blackburn died at the hospital the following day. Amanda Blackburn’s father is lead pastor of First Baptist Church in Elkhart, Indiana, and Davey Blackburn’s father, Dave Blackburn, is lead pastor at Next Church in Brevard, North Carolina.
One of the family’s representatives, Suzanne Swift, told CNN that Amanda Blackburn was 13 weeks pregnant. The couple’s 15-month-old son, Weston, was at home but not harmed in the attack.
