The quake, which was reported at 6:10 a.m., was first classified as having a 3.2-magnitude, but it has since been upgraded, USGS officials said.

A series of small earthquakes has been rattling the San Ramon area. Two other quakes that happened within a mile of the cluster both had a magnitude of 3.1.
The string of earthquakes began on Tuesday at 8:50 a.m and continued into Wednesday morning with the last one hitting at 4:11 a.m. So far there are no reports of damage or injuries, but people are saying they felt it in Danville, Dublin, Pleasanton and Lafayette.
The flurry of small quakes doesn’t mean a big tremor is imminent.
That quake was at a depth of nearly six miles along the Calaveras Fault.

“Whenever we see swarms like Wednesday’s, it does raise the probability of a larger one, but that probability remains very low”, Aagaard said.
