Lincoln police have identified the officers injured in the Sunday night shooting that left one man dead.
Lincoln Police Chief Jim Peschong says Grigsby told officers he wouldn’t go to jail.
“It was a pretty intense struggle”, Peschong said.
LPD says officers are still searching for two suspects who fled the scene of a traffic stop, believed to have sparked the situation.
The officers were investigating suspicious activity in the northeast Lincoln neighborhood when they found a man with a felony arrest warrant against him.
Ultimately, Grigsby pulled a small-caliber handgun and fired, hitting a male officer in the right arm, he said.
The shooting happened in front of 2931 N. 73rd St.
Officers surrounded a nearby home and ultimately took five people into custody.
Nebraska State Patrol tweeted, “Support for fellow officers @Lincoln_Police and the families of all involved #thinblueline”.

The Journal Star reported that one person was killed in the confrontation, but it was not clear who that individual was.
