Hollenbeck says the Hackett police officer suffered “superficial” wounds, but he declined to release the condition of the sheriff’s deputy. The police dog has not been found. Officers eventually talked Jones into coming out of the house peacefully with his hands up and he was arrested and taken to the Crawford County Detention Center.

KFSM reports the suspect, identified by Greenwood city leaders as Billy Jones, was barricaded inside a home Wednesday morning and engaged in a standoff with officers.

Per a report from CNN, one of the officers shot early Wednesday has reportedly died.

According to Sgt. Daniel Grubbs, three officers were injured.

Local and state police are on “high alert” and are actively searching for a suspect, KHBS reported.

He was taken into custody without further incident.

Police also said Jones has a license for explosive. Jones, who has prior gun and drug charges, is now facing two counts of felony first-degree battery and possession of firearms by certain persons, but more charges will be added to his rap sheet. His rap sheet also includes a theft of property charge in 2011 and another charge from 2007 of manufacturing a controlled substance. Police said he may have had a court date on Wednesday.
