Two Palestinians killed after allegedly committing separate attacks in Ramallah
The Palestinian health ministry said in an e-mailed press statement that Abdul Rahman Barghouti (27), was shot dead by Israeli troops’ gunfire in the village of Aabood, north of the West Bank city of Ramallah.

Speaking on public radio on Friday, the driver said the windscreen of the vehicle was riddled with bullets, but neither he nor his passengers were harmed.
That attack came just hours after another some 20 kilometres (12 miles) away in which a Palestinian stabbed and wounded an Israeli soldier before being shot dead.
An Israeli soldier shoots a Palestinian holding a knife after he stabbed another Israeli soldier, seen kneeling, during clashes in Hebron, West Bank on Friday, October 16, 2015.
On Thursday, the soldiers shot and killed a young Palestinian man, identified as Mazen Hasan Arabiya, 37 years of age, in Hizma town, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
The army said the attack took place at a checkpoint. Eyewitnesses said the soldiers fired a large number of live fire on the two Palestinian. Palestinians say the attacks stem from a lack of hope for gaining independence after years of failed peace efforts. “A soldier was moderately wounded”, an Israeli army spokesperson said in a statement.
Amid the criticism for their late response, the Israeli authorities said that after Thursday’s arrests they are moving closer to solving the case which has enraged Palestinians and been a key factor fueling the recent wave of Israeli-Palestinian violence.
He said the Israeli campaign includes traditional advertising, partnerships with Russian tour operators and bringing Russian celebrities to Israel to “spread the word”.
Israeli media alleged the two Palestinians tried to carry out a stabbing attack, which the Palestinian media denied.
Most of the violence has been in the occupied West Bank but there have been semi-regular protests in the Gaza Strip.
According to the Palestinian Authority’s Committee on Detainees, the Israeli army has detained 2,460 Palestinians, including 1,200 children and 69 women, in the past two months alone.

The Israeli campaign will likely rile Egypt, one of Israel’s few allies in the Arab world, and which depends heavily on tourism. Discouragement rooted in decades of Israeli occupation has been attributed by the Palestinian leaders.
