One man died while inside the party venue. However, it is unclear whether Drake was inside the club at the time, considering the night was winding down when the shooting happened.

“What occurred originally in the bar area had spilled out into the streets so south and north of this area we do have three separate crimes scenes”, Bergen said. He said three people were taken to hospital with various injuries.
The nightclub was hosting the afterparty for OVO Fest, an annual concert/festival at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre, which is hosted by Toronto rapper Drake. It wasn’t immediately clear if police had any suspects or made arrests, or what led to the shooting.
The police are continuing their investigation regarding what, exactly, occurred at Muzik, and have requested that anyone with more details reach out to Homicide, Crime Stoppers or to Toronto Police Service’s Division 14.
Police believe there are other victims.
“We are very lucky that this is not a larger body count, quite frankly”, said Deputy Chief Peter Sloly in a press conference. “Literally our officers have been operating towards stay-hearth incidents”.
Toronto Mayor John Tory shared with Vice how he is sad and angry about the situation, but is placing his trust in the police.
He said his condolences were with the victims and the their families.
We were together for a long, long time and it’s personal, ” Kermit said. “There is no place for [this] violent criminal behaviour in a city which prides itself on how we live together safely and peacefully”.

A surprise performer at the three-day fest this year was American hip-hop artist Kanye West, who just last week headlined the closing of the Pan Am Games.
