Palestinian militants have called for a knife “intifada”, or uprising, against Israel and numerous assailants have been teenagers.
Also on Tuesday, 13-year-old Ahmed Manasra stood trial over a purported stabbing in mid-October in East al-Quds.
That guard used his weapon to shoot and, thus, “neutralized the terrorist”, the police said via Twitter.
Earlier in the day, another Palestinian man was killed by Israeli forces in East al-Quds (Jerusalem) over an alleged stabbing attack.
Abbas, who is now in Saudi Arabia, also addressed a message to the Israeli people, saying “the measures of your government to make the occupation longer are illegal and all are rejected”.
These attacks come after a relatively calm couple of weeks in Jerusalem.
Israel security forces arrested 24 suspected members of Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in overnight raids in the northern West Bank, the army said on Tuesday. The only survivor, a four-year-old boy, is recovering in an Israeli hospital.
Leaked video of an interrogation posted by Palestinian media purportedly shows him in tears as an Israeli officer shouts and shakes his fist at him while making him watch CCTV footage of the attack.
A Palestinian bystander was wounded in the shooting, Samri added.
At the beginning of the video, an Israeli officer is captured on camera shouting and raising his hand threateningly at Manasra. “Look you liar, it’s you”, the man says in Arabic.
It is not known who released the video, accessible only to those involved in the investigation and to lawyers.

Samri, the police spokeswoman, said the investigation was conducted “with professionalism and without bias”.
