Maiduguri – Two suicide bombers on Wednesday failed in the mission to detonate explosive devices at Molai Leprosy/General Hospital in Borno State, reports Vanguard.
Aliyu said a male bomber and another female suicide bomber carried out the attack.
He said the suicide bombers were terrorists who were suspected to have sneaked into Molai from Sambisa Forest, the notorious base of the gangsters that has been under military siege for some time now.
“He wanted me to go round and even have some conversation today with the displaced persons who are in this camp”.
Wednesday’s incident occurred as the vice-president of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, visited Maiduguri to assess the extent of damage so far caused by Boko Haram’s attacks.
The Vice President had commenced on the trip to Borno in compliance to the instruction of the President to know the true nature of things at the camps of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
Maiduguri has been the target of several attacks since Muhammadu Buhari, president of Africa’s most populous nation and biggest economy, made it the command centre for the campaign against Boko Haram militants after being inaugurated on May 29.

Kanar said NEMA officials are still working closely with the Borno State government, Red Cross and other humanitarian agencies in ensuring the safety and welfare of the IDPs.
