Rudley said the Texas Southern student who was killed was a freshman, though his name and age haven’t been released. “I was interviewing students, they told me a gun only costs 100 to 300 dollars and everybody can get one”.
This was the second fatal shooting of the day on a college campus.
Representatives from the Delta Chi fraternity’s national organisation said its members were involved in the confrontation.
The shooting is the third reported this week on or near the university campus – another alleged shooting took place in the same area late Thursday.
The school said that the suspected gunman was charged with first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault, and that he would be arraigned by video on Friday afternoon.
The students wounded in the attack were Nicholas Prato, Kyle Zientek and Nicholas Piring.
In response to the increased violence, campus police said that they would be increasing their presence around campus. The victims were shot repeatedly, according to CNN. Then the deadly shooting a few hours later. “I really don’t. This is the second one this year for us”.
“I was studying for an exam, so I looked out the window and see two people running, and that’s when I realized they weren’t fireworks, they were actually gunshots”, she said.
An Instagram photo from 13 weeks ago showed Jones wearing American-flag attire and holding a shotgun over his shoulder.
Reports have surfaced that President Obama is ready to circumvent Congress with his executive authority and impose a new background-check for buyers who purchase weapons from high-volume gun dealers.
The shooting was reported around 11:30 a.m.at University Courtyard Apartments, on the edge of the Houston campus.
“It’s insane”, Pickens said. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
Details about the shooting are conflicting thus far, with a few sites reporting one person shot, while others are reporting two were shot.
