Thetis Lake Regional Park however is on lockdown and Capital Regional District staff are turning visitors away and asking those on the beach and in the trails to leave while officers comb the area. Others are being asked to avoid the area. “But also based on the nature of the incident with the suspect potentially being armed, we don’t want anyone to get hurt”.
Police say the men were wearing dark clothing.
They are not providing many details at this time, but they are asking residents in the Highlands area of Lost Lake Road to stay in their homes.
Westshore RCMP say 25-year-old Josh LaFleur is still wanted in connection with a shooting that left two men injured in Sooke on Wednesday night.
One of those suspects, Joshua Nicholas Lafleur – is believed to be the trigger man in the shootings.
A large scale search for the suspects in the wooded area around Thetis Lake was unsuccessful.
