A statement released by the Syrian Defence Ministry said an Israeli warplane and a drone were shot down after they carried out a bombing raid on a Syrian army position in the south-west city of Quneitra.

The state-run Syrian Arab News Agency later reported that the Israeli warplane went down near the town of Quneitra, while the drone was downed near Sa’sa’, both in southern Syria.
