LSU coach Les Miles is thankful to be able to talk to Colby Delahoussaye and eventually he will be able to hug him. Investigations say speeding appeared to be a factor in the crash.
The 24-year-old Sadler, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, was driving. He was a three-year starting punter for the Nebraska Huskers, and was expected to be one of college football’s best players in 2016.
The third man, 21-year-old Colby Delahoussaye, a place kicker for Louisiana State University who was also in the vehicle, was rushed to Waukesha Memorial Hospital for treatment, the release said. He was turned to Waukesha Memorial Hospital for his injuries.
Nebraska Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst said Sunday that the university will not send Riley or any of the players to Big Ten Media Days, which begin on Monday in Chicago.
Foltz faced similar treatment from a passionate fan base in Nebraska. Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio called Sadler “a light in this world”, while Nebraska coach Mike Riley said Foltz was “universally loved and respected by everyone he touched”.
A vigil took place in Foltz’s memory Sunday afternoon outside Memorial Stadium on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus. For Michigan State Spartans across the globe news of former Spartans punter Mike Sadler’s passing caught all by surprise leaving many wondering why someone with so much to give could be gone so soon.
All five had spent the day working at Jamie Kohl’s specialist camp at Kettle Moraine High School in Wales.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of Sam Foltz and Mike Sadler”.
The loss seems downright cruel when it happens to someone young.
“That’s why it was also just so important to see them because just making (it) available is one thing but also getting to see the guys and be around them a little bit, I think, is important, to know how that can be and to make sure they’re with each other right now, too”.

“The world has lost a rising star who dreamed big and was accomplishing those dreams, one after another”, Dantonio said. One person after another made it clear he was no ordinary football player. Foltz had a punting average of 44.2 last season, which ranked 22nd in the nation. “While today is filled with sadness and reminders of the fragility of life, we can take solace in knowing that we are all better for having known Mike and Sam”. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.. This loss will be felt for a long time around the Nebraska program.
