“There could certainly be a place for him”, the mogul said after being asked whether he, were he to win the GOP nomination, would consider Christie as a running mate.

Monmouth University pollster Patrick Murray disagreed entirely.

“We are competing in Iowa, and we are going to try to do well here”, he said.

“Is there a number less than zero?” After all, it’s another northeastern state with a large proportion of moderate Republican and independent voters. They addressed education and tax reform.

As a former prosecutor, he said he knew what it takes to keep the United States safe from further attacks, and reminding the audience that terrorism “wasn’t a theory” in his experience. “It could be actually a turning-point state”. “You coming here today is another example of the fact that this is one of those things that could really, we look for issues that can unify our country. And where did they go?”

Donald Trump opened the door Wednesday to a possible ticket with Chris Christie. Asked who could stand to splinter a still-standing Christie’s share of delegates at home, her answer was immediate: “Jeb Bush”.

“I just think it’s something that most Americans are concerned about and they’re waiting for their leaders to talk about”, Christie said.

His second term has been clouded by the scandal over his administration’s ties to the closing of lanes that caused traffic tie-ups near the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee, New Jersey, in 2013.

“I don’t think that’s groundbreaking political analysis, but it’s the truth”, he said. As the fight in New Hampshire rages on among Christie, Rubio, Bush, and Kasich as to who will be the candidate of the establishment, it might be that Iowa could point the way.

“He will be governor for more than a year, even if this race doesn’t turn out the way he wants”.
