Two-week extension to LS panel, AAP MP remains barred from Parliament
Currently, the Speaker had “advised” Mann against attending Lok Sabha proceedings till a decision was taken on the inquiry panel’s report. The AAP leader further defended Mr Mann and said the offence was not so serious, that the Parliamentary panel is taking so long time to probe.

The Aam Aadmi Party MP had shot a video clip of the journey from his residence to Parliament House, including going past the various security pickets, and uploaded it on social media, drawing flak for putting the security of Parliament House in peril.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Wednesday granted extension of two weeks to the nine-member committee constituted to probe AAP MP Bhagwant Mann’s security breach video.
A letter, signed by BJP’s Mahesh Giri, SAD’s Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra, and AAP’s Harinder Singh Khalsa, has urged the Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to allow Mann to attend the Lok Sabha proceedings “only after” undergoing rehab.
Mann is now not attending the Monsoon Session after he came under fire for the Parliament security breach incident.
It underlined that not only other Members of Parliament, but also the “journalists and staff working in the Parliament House know this fact and it is the most talked topics”. Addressing the mediapersons here, senior AAP leader Ashish Khetan said, “All the MPs of the ruling coalition, especially from BJP, are trying to corner Mr Mann”.
The Sangrur MP said he was being “stopped from raising the voice of the people, including the poor and the Dalits”.
“On due consideration of grounds and reasons stated, I have acceded to the request for extension of two weeks more time w.e.f. Now I will not be able to raise these issues”, he said.

Besides Somaiya, the panel has two BJP members-Meenakshi Lekhi and Satyapal Singh.
