Jacob’s passing came as hundreds of well wishers gathered on Seaton Carew seafront, Hartlepool, to release yellow balloons in a show of support for the family.

“Jacob has gained his Angel wings at 7pm as you all set off your balloons”.
“We chose this time to let him go as we knew everyone would be thinking of him and have him in their thoughts”.
“There was nothing we could do”.
“We are now just getting settled into the RVI Newcastle and hoping for the next critical 48 hours to go as best as they can”.
Two-year-old Jacob Jenkins reportedly stopped breathing for 30 minutes after swallowing the fruit at a Pizza Hut restaurant on Friday.
He was airlifted to hospital.
A fundraising page set up for his family has raised almost £9,000.
“The parents now need time to grieve, it breaks my heart to say this but this fund will now help with baby Jacob’s funeral costs and give his family the funds to not have to worry about going back to work”.
She posted on Facebook: “Me and David want to thank everyone for your kind messages and prayers of support for Jacob”.
The restaurant remained closed until Monday.
Jacob Jenkins was rushed to hospital in an air ambulance after the incident in Hartlepool on Friday and placed in an induced coma that evening.
Abigail, speaking before Jacob’s death, said: “We really would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support and the Go Fund Me page is absolutely fantastic”.
“Hartlepool’s little soldier”, Leonie Robinson said on Facebook.
