Ty Lawson traded to Rockets, according to report

The Denver Nuggets have reached agreement to trade guard Ty Lawson to the Houston Rockets, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Denver is sending a 2017 second-round pick with Lawson, according to Wojnarowski. California Highway Patrol Officer Jennifer Cassidy says Lawson was driving at a high rate of speed before being pulled over around 2 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, on state Route 101 in Hollywood.

Lawson was the 18th overall pick in the 2009 National Basteball Association draft. But the Nuggets so badly wanted to move Lawson, that probably matters most to them.

Lawson will join the backcourt with Patrick Beverley, who the Rockets resigned last week and MVP-Runner-Up James Harden. Expect the Nuggets to waive Prigioni once the deal is official.

Jake Pavorsky of Liberty Ballers reported that the deal has a player option in the third season for McDaniels and that news was later confirmed by his agent.

Pablo Prigioni’s partially guaranteed contract becomes fully guaranteed tomorrow. The team reportedly is interested in bringing back Jason Terry as a backup point guard and the Houston Chronicle reports that Chuck Hayes is another potential target for the team. Kostas Papanikolaou played good minutes early last season for the Rockets but was nothing more than a bench warmer come later in the season.
