Tyler Boyd: Tyler Boyd loses fumble late in Week 2 loss

If anything, this just gives Bengals fans another reason to hate both the Steelers and the refs.

It turned out to be a good plan.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams, right, carries the ball with Cincinnati Bengals outside linebacker Vincent Rey (57) in pursuit during the second half of an NFL football game in Pittsburgh, Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016.

Baltimore fought back from a 20-0 deficit Sunday to beat Cleveland and remain undefeated at 2-0, while the Browns fell to 0-2 in their home opener. As usual, the Steelers stuffed the running game, holding the Bengals to 46 rushing yards.

“I should have done a better job with ball security”, said Boyd, who finished with six catches for 78 yards. “That’s all we tried to do”.

Both sides will be without key players.

“We were in a coverage that was like 2 by 2”, said Cockrell. “A.J”. I thought he played well.

Fellow tight end Jesse James also had a touchdown catch from Roethlisberger, and David Johnson had a 5-yard reception. I don’t want him to feel like he’s in a dark place now. “That’s the only thing I care about”.

And on a rainy day, getting the ball to the wide receivers wasn’t necessarily easy to do, either.

Boyd’s teammate at wide receiver, A.J. Green, emphasized that the team wouldn’t have been in position to tie the game late without the rookie receiver.

SLOPPY FINISH: Dalton found Giovanni Bernard for a 25-yard touchdown with 3:25 left, but each of Cincinnati’s last two drives ended in turnovers. They love the elements like that. We try to stay pretty focused on the goal, that’s to win the game. A week after dominating Darrelle Revis for 12 catches and 180 yards and a touchdown against the Jets, Green was a nonfactor and one of the reasons Cincinnati went just 4 of 16 on third down.

Roethlisberger hit Sammie Coates with a pretty 53-yard pass to set up a 9-yard toss to James.

“Well, you’d love him to lead the league in passing, just with less attempts, have things be a little more balanced”, Zampese said.

DeAngelo Williams continues to carry the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offensive water through two games.

“That was huge”, said Steelers linebacker James Harrison.

The Bengals are one of the best teams in the AFC, and unless they get hit with a rash of injuries, they will nearly certainly be in the playoffs. We’re trying to hold them to nothing. Kicker Chris Boswell converted all three extra points and a 49-yard field goal. On the first play after the two-minute warning, Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton hit Boyd with a 6-yard pass on first and 10. Leading the secondary was safety Robert Golden with five tackles and three assists.

“I was told it was down, even by the guys on our sideline, the officials”, Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said, referring to his conversation with officials while the play was under replay review. “They didn’t see it that way overall, so that’s all that matters”.

Given all of the elements the Cincinnati Bengals had to endure against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, once could call the one-possession, 24-16 loss a miracle.

“If not, you’re going to have an imbalance in play selection”, said Lapham. “We weren’t ideal in any phase, in all three phases”. “But we did enough in all three phases to secure victory versus a very good football team”.
