Tyler Hansbrough reportedly signs with Hornets, returns to North

Tyler Hansbrough has agreed to a deal to join the Charlotte Hornets, something first reported by Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer. As a starter, Hansbrough put up 8.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game when he was playing the forward position. He averaged just 3.6 points and 3.6 rebounds a year ago.

Hansbrough, known for his “motor”, his intensity and his physical play, hasn’t approached the status he enjoyed as a Tar Heels player in six National Basteball Association seasons.

As an National Basteball Association player, Hansbrough’s best showing came in the 2010-11 season where he posted a career-high 29 games and averaged 11 points and 5.2 rebounds. However, his playing time and production have steadily decreased since that season. Those latter two are more natural shooters than Hansbrough.

The former North Carolina Tar Heel is coming back to North Carolina to wreak some havoc like he did in his psycho T days.

Once the Hornets sign Hansbrough, they will have 15 guaranteed contracts entering training camp.

The Hornets are expected to start either Cody Zeller or rookie Frank Kaminsky at power forward this season.

Energy and hustle is something that Hawes most definitely does not have.

All of that being said, Hansbrough was a very nice pickup for the Hornets that has a very good chance to be one a big piece for his new team.
