Tyson Fury beats Wladimir Klitschko to be new heavyweight boxing world champion
And the now-former The Ring, IBF, WBO, IBO and WBA Heavyweight boxing champion looked terrible in the process.

The challenger continued to fight in a sensible fashion in the second round, but his posing and confident attitude in the third saw him throw fewer shots as 39-year-old Klitschko attempted to work an opening, with Fury boxing southpaw during that round.
It was the first loss for Wladimir since 2004, and has since slowly picked up title after title to unify the division, including after his brother retired to pursue a career in politics.
His father, who was a gypsy bare-knuckle fighter in the 1980s, named him Tyson after world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.
Fury had a point deducted by American referee Tony Weekes for punching the back of the Klitschko’s head but that did not change the outcome as the Briton finally had a heavyweight boxing champion again. Klit won’t exercise the rematch clause he insisted on.
It seemed like a long wait for Fury as the cards were sorted but it was worth it with judges Cesar Ramos and Ramon Cerdan scoring it 115-112 and judge Raul Caiz Sr wider still at 116-111 to set off jubilant scenes.
Fury, who shed 32 kilos in five months to get in shape for the fight, landed a bruising left uppercut in the ninth that wounded Klitschko’s right eye.
Fury said: “People can say what they like about me, that I’m clumsy and awkward but now Ii am the heavyweight champion of the world”. I don’t think Fury can beat Ortiz, but he can probably defeat Glazkov and Martin.
Tyson Fury vowed to be the most charismatic heavyweight champion since Muhammad Ali after dethroning Wladimir Klitschko.
Whether Wilder gets a unification fight with Fury will also depend on whether Fury and his management wants that fight or not. However, in reality, this fight was far more one-sided with Klitschko winning 1 or 2 rounds at best. “I was well prepared for this fight but he was quick for his height”.
“If I can do half as well as Wladimir Klitschko then I’ll have done well because that man is a great champion”.

This was Fury’s 25th professional victory and he will cash in on the victory, regardless of his fight purse, having bet £200,000 ($300,630) on himself.
