Tyson Fury shocked the world by outworking and outperforming Wladimir Klitschko to become the new world heavyweight champion via unanimous decision.
Klitschko said he will “definitely” use the option of a rematch, which is in the fight contract.
The 27-year-old Fury (25-0) wasn’t intimidated by Klitschko and taunted and baited him at times during the match.
“Wladimir deserves a rematch”, Vitali Klitschko, also a former heavyweight champion, who was in his brother’s corner said. I wish I would have landed more clean shots.
After the Hayemaker pulled out of two £10m fights against Fury, the champion’s camp have repeatedly claimed they will never go down that route again. “Wladimir, you’re a great champion and thanks for having me”.
“It doesn’t really matter to me where I fight”.
Britain’s Tyson Fury (right) connects with a left straight against Wldimir Kltschko.
Fury has already made his mark in a heavyweight division badly in need of a strong character and he proved he can trash talk with the best of them in the fight’s build-up. “All I can say is “to be continued”.
He then burst into a rendition of Aerosmith’s hit ballad I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing, dedicating it to wife Paris and his fans in Ireland, the UK, the United States and Germany.
Matchroom Boxing boss, Eddie Hearn, has sent his congratulations to Tyson Fury on his fantastic world heavyweight title win over Wladimir Klitschko, though warned he feels his fighter, London 2012 Olympic gold medalist, Anthony Joshua, is the man who will end up with the belts in due course.
WBC title holder Wilder challenged Fury following his victory in Germany with a tweet saying: “I’m coming for you”.
Addressing his doubters after his victory, Fury said, “I always said what I’d do and I’ve delivered tonight”.
After Fury had problems with ill-fitting gloves in the week leading up to the fight, there was plenty of tension in the build-up on Saturday.
“With Floyd Mayweather gone, Wlad took his place and I just took him out”.
“I was missing my speed today and I struggled with his reach”.

“I think I have showed my true colours over the years”. It has not come easily. “Everybody wrote us off, said we had no chance… we all believed we could do it, we came here and we done it”.
