Tyson Fury ends Wladimir Klitschko’s reign as heavyweight champion
“I know how good Wladimir is and Wladimir did not show how good he is [against Fury]”, said Vitali.

The 39-year old Ukranian went down to the UK’s Tyson Fury in a 12-round decision.
The 27-year-old stunned Klitschko with a points victory to snatch the champion’s four titles and become the first Briton to hold a world heavyweight boxing crown since 2011. Fury found the opening rounds easy going and by the fourth those in attendance realized Klitschko simply wasn’t aggressive enough to win the 12 rounds, and in current form would find a knockout blow impossible to land.
Fury dressed as Batman in the run-up to the fight and was involved in verbal spats with Klitschko, labelling him boring and robotic as well as saying he was only interested in breaking his face.
While Fury took a small purse to have his shot, he would earn significantly more as the defending champion next time around, particularly if he travelled to Klitschko’s adopted homeland once more.
“It’s a great honour to be sat here with all these belts as the heavyweight champion of the world”.
Fury also was concerned he’d never get the chance to back up his tough talk. “I’ll just say that we didn’t see much of Wladimir’s potential (against Fury)”.
Now, one of the things that struck us all about this fight was that Klitschko looked a bit disinterested.
‘Now he’s champion he has to behave himself a little bit more because there are a lot of kids and people looking up to him, ‘ Lewis told BBC Radio Five Live’s Sportsweek programme.
And he added: “I just want to thank everyone for coming and just want you to keep on supporting me because I’m the new heavyweight champion of the world”. “If you say I’m fighting in Japan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, America, wherever it has to be, it has to be”, Fury said.
Klitschko has already stated his desire for a rematch and, asked if the Ukrainian will make good on those words and pursue a second bout, Fury said: “I think he will. I think he’ll take the rematch”.
Fury was awarded the fight 115-112, 115-112 and 116-111 by the judges on Saturday, as Klitschko’s reign as world champion was finally ended after nine years and six months.

“The fighter is still inside me. I really tried but it did not work out”, said dethroned Wladimir Klitschko after the fight. “So, if Deontay Wilder wants a unification fight he is going to have to wait because Wladimir Klitschko has a round-two”. “He won the fight”.
