U.S. election 2016: Trump’s anti-Clinton speech cut short by black pastor

Donald Trump gave a speech at a Flint, Michigan, church Wednesday, but it’s the words of the church’s pastor, Rev. Faith Green Timmons, that are making headlines.

Host Seth Meyers criticizes Hillary Clinton’s “deplorables” comment as a mark of her affluence. Next week, she plans to meet with foreign leaders next week at the U.N. General Assembly in NY, her campaign said Wednesday.

“Just like she’s failed on foreign policy, everything she touched din’t work out. It just happened. We shouldn’t allow it to happen”, said Trump at the Bethel United Methodist Church.

Trump attacked Hillary Clinton, but was scolded by the pastor who invited him. CNN’s Phil Mattingly also adds that those at the church were told that some would get to ask questions, but Trump ended up leaving immediately after the remarks.

“Nothing”, Trump said, touching on a laundry list of items from the Flint water crisis, her husband’s signature NAFTA trade pact, General Motors’ decision to move jobs to Mexico and the Obama administration’s perceived failures.

Trump visited the traditionally African American church in the impoverished city to pay tribute to the city’s resiliency.

Trump toured the water plant as part of his visit, over the objections of Flint Mayor Karen Weaver, who was in Washington, D.C., with several members of Michigan’s congressional delegation – Democratic Sens.

“I can only say in the strongest of terms that we can fix this problem, it’s going to take time, it’s fantastic the damage that’s been done”.

He then made a few remarks about fixing Flint’s drinking-water issues before departing.

The real estate mogul’s visit to Flint is the most attention Trump has devoted to the city whose water crisis rose to national prominence earlier this year.

Flint’s water crisis was preceded by E. coli detections; resident complaints about color, odor and taste; and high levels of a disinfectant byproduct. Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm spoke on the final day of the Democratic National Convention, declaring “we are all Flint”.

Former state epidemiologist Corinne Miller leaves court room after taking a plea agreement, at the 67th District Court in Flint, Michigan on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016. Hillary Clinton has visited in the past, promising help as president. But a release from the show said that “Dr. Oz took Mr. Trump though a full review of his systems” including his nervous system, cardiovascular health, prostate health and family medical history. “They’ll make their cars, they’ll employ thousands and thousands of people, not from this country … and we’ll have nothing but more unemployment in Flint”.

“This isn’t the first time he could’ve come”, says Minister of North Central Church of Christ, Rigel Dawson.
