U.S. faces moment of reckoning says, Clinton Hillary

Some suggested that Obama’s speech, which quoted the Declaration of Independence and framed the U.S.as a “light of freedom, dignity and human rights”, did a better job at expressing conservative values than Trump’s did. “I viewed that as optimism because I talk about the problem, which President Obama didn’t want to talk about last night”.

Trump said there would be “no more Mr. Nice Guy”.

I’m here to tell you that yes, we’ve still got more work to do. “He’s betting that if he scares enough people, he might score just enough votes to win this election”, Obama said.

Some young Democrats expressed their frustration by participating in a silent sit-in in the media tent at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday afternoon, after Clinton received the nomination.

While conceding that there is “no doubt that there are some of those people who will not vote for Hillary Clinton”, Sanders insisted that he would “vigorously” campaign on her behalf. “And I do mean odd”, she with a mischievous twinkle.

“He loses his cool at the slightest provocation”, she said. Admitting that nothing can truly prepare someone for the demands of the Oval office, he stressed how Clinton has already been in the room. But Hillary’s been in the room; she’s been part of those decisions.

“If you live in the neighborhoods like the ones Jill and I grew up in, if you worry about your job and getting a decent pay, if you worry about your children’s education, if you’re taking care of an elderly parent, then there’s only one, only one person in this election who will help you….”

“I knew Ronald Reagan”.

The 68-year-old Democrat portrays Mr Trump as a threat to democracy, and is seeking to both woo moderate Republicans repelled by the former reality TV star and shore up a coalition with progressives on the left of her party.

The stakes are high: A loss to Trump would not only end Clinton’s political career, it could be a devastating coda to her and her husband’s political legacy and leave the Democratic Party weaker than it has been in a generation.

“A democracy requires something from all of us”, she said. “And I promise you, our strength, our greatness, does not depend on Donald Trump”.

“The American Dream is something that no wall will ever contain”.

Clinton set off from her convention Friday on a bus tour through Pennsylvania and OH with her running mate Tim Kaine. The speech was good, as numerous president’s speeches are, but it was yet another reminder that the president will soon not be the president. “That is a very frightening place”, Kaine said.

“Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it”, Trump said.

“Now that I’m ready to pass the baton”, he said to “reject fear” and “elect Hillary Clinton as the next President of the United States and show the world that we still believe in the promise of this great nation”.

Clinton praised the Obama administration and the progress made throughout it.

Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings, an African-American and close ally of Clinton, was telling the story of his late father – a share-cropper in SC – on the convention’s first day when Sanders supporters started chanting “No TPP” and holding up signs opposing the trade pact.

Obama was introduced by Sharon Belkofer, the mother of US soldier Tom Belkofer who was killed in Afghanistan in 2010.

With Clinton largely absent from the convention stage – she made a brief cameo on stage Wednesday night after Obama spoke – the convention speakers in Philadelphia urged Americans to see beyond what Bill Clinton called the “cartoon” of Clinton created by adversaries. The video chronicled the deep tragedy and momentous accomplishments of Obama’s presidency, with many moments garnering loud cheers from the crowd.
