U.S. is at a ‘moment of reckoning’: Hillary Clinton
Bill Clinton’s attempts to appeal to Muslims living in America, and counter what some consider xenophobic rhetoric toward them from GOP candidate Donald Trump, appears to have backfired.

“It will potentially mean more women will become president, too”, said Adrienne Ayala, who’s visiting from Maryland.
“We’re going to carry Hillary to victory this fall, because that’s what the moment demands”, he said to loud cheers and applause.
Clinton made Trump a recurring theme in her speech, contrasting what she portrayed as steady-handed leadership with Trump’s perceived quick-trigger unpredictability.
The president arrived to chants of “yes, we can” before he talked about family, faith in America and feeling “the Bern”.
“I can’t put it any better than Jackie Kennedy did after the Cuban missile crisis”, Clinton said. They say the nomination of a woman candidate by the Democratic Party is likely to encourage Zimbabwean women to seek nomination for the presidential race in 2018 in the southern African nation.
But Democrats – from Obama and former President Bill Clinton on down – have spent the past three days hammering away at Trump’s personality and business record. “Her refusal to even say the words “Radical Islam”, or to mention her disaster in Libya, or her corrupt email scheme, all show how little she cares about the safety of the American people”. What tone will Clinton take? “Not really a facts guy, either”.
Given much of the mainstream U.S. media’s apathetic feelings (at best) towards Trump, it seems unlikely that this will be a mistake repeated in tomorrow’s headlines after Hillary formally accepts the nomination this evening. He endorsed 68-year-old Clinton, who had served as the secretary of state under his presidency, for having a first-hand knowledge of the challenges that come with the job and contrasted it with the lack of experience of the Republican nominee.
Division aside, Thursday will be a historic night for Clinton.
Clinton’s four-day convention began with efforts to shore up liberals who backed Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary and it ended with an outstretched hand to Republicans and independents unnerved by GOP nominee Donald Trump.
“Now, you didn’t hear any of this from Donald Trump at his convention”.
