He played fantastic at Wimbledon.

NEW YORK-A flat-footed Milos Raonic lumbered around Grandstand clutching his Wilson racquet as if it was a cane.

Djokovic, who declined comment earlier this week about a nagging left wrist or a right arm that bothered him in a first-round win, takes on Jiri Vesely in one of Wednesday’s marquee matches in Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Harrison stunned No. 5-seeded Milos Raonic 6-7 (4), 7-5, 7-5, 6-1 in the biggest upset of the tournament so far. “I’m trying to approach it, you know, just like I would any other match right now”.

“I think I hesitated at the beginning”.

“He played well, he did a lot of things well”, the Canadian said. No way to try to win a tennis match. That’s a good thing about it. “This is the time you dream of as a kid”.

Harrison, who had suffered four opening-round defeats in six prior NY appearances, moves on to a third-round clash with Marcos Baghdatis.

Until Monday, Harrison hadn’t won any main-draw match at any major since the 2013 French Open.

The pressure of the moment, combined with the fact his serve wasn’t as sharp as it usually is, conspired against Raonic creating the cramping issues. I think that he will and, in many ways, it would be great if he could make a run at the U.S. Open.

“It was probably just nerves and stress, a mental sort of over-exuberance”, Raonic said.

But the problems really started in the third set after Raonic called for a medical timeout to have a trainer work on his left wrist.

In an effort to shorten points, Raonic tried to attack.

Sock, the No. 26 seed, dominated play with his serve and forehand to advance to the third round for the third time in his career.

On Thursday, the second round concludes with Andy Murray taking on Marcel Granollers and Juan Martin del Potro goes up against American Steve Johnson.

Raonic could have just pulled the plug.

After Harrison hit a forehand passing victor to break for a 5-1 lead in the fourth set, Raonic looked exhausted, resting both arms on his knees and leaning on his racket for support. “That was scary. You don’t want to see that for anybody”, Harrison said.

“It’s mental maturity, a little bit of stabilization with everything around me that is allowing me to play with a sense of calm and also with excitement, ” said Harrison, who turned pro almost a decade ago and reached a top ranking of 43rd in 2012.

Canada’s Vasek Pospisil is among players with day-opening matches.

“I stopped looking at the world rankings when I dropped out of the top 10”, said Wozniacki when asked how she kept her spirits up during her recent slump. “My personality is a very fiery one”. The first one me and my brother both competed in.

“The really painful cramps started to pass at some point in the third set, but then I started getting small ones where I couldn’t hold the racket”. “Just that match count of being in the heat for as many matches as I was, I certainly wasn’t feeling as exhausted as I would have been otherwise”.
