U2 fans Patrick Coughlan, Artane and Dave Griffith, Goatstown, queue outside the 3 Arena for tickets for U2’s upcoming gigs in the 3 Arena, which go on sale at 9am on Monday morning.

Irish rock legends U2 have sold out all of their Irish dates.

The homecoming had been in doubt over the suitability of venues for the show’s unique set.

Sadly many of their fans were left disappointed as they were unable to obtain tickets, or if they did they were extremely expensive and unaffordable. One fan contacted the Belfast Telegraph newspaper to complain.

It is the first time the band will perform songs from their Innocence + Experience album to a home crowd and tickets are expected to sell out within a matter of hours.

The band has just kicked off the European leg of its world tour and will be playing a string of dates at The O2 in London and dates in Glasgow before playing Paris in November.
