Apple Music is taking a bold leap into Virtual Reality – with U2.
Apple’s virtual reality partner Chris Milk – of Vrse – told Wired: “It was an incredible experience working with the people at Apple on this project”.
The “Song for someone” music video has been transformed into an immersive three-dimensional experience that offers a 360 degree perspective and is the band’s latest music video.
The virtual reality music video will transport the audience to witness exclusive behind-the-scenes jam sessions, on-stage performances and clips of musicians from around the world playing instruments inside their own homes. Of course, the company isn’t commenting on what this means for its future in virtual reality, however, it does signify the company’s interest in the tech. Last September U2 released their “Songs of Innocence” album for free to 26 million Apple Music subscribers.
While the move was welcomed by U2 fans, others were not so happy to be given the album and Apple issued instructions on how to remove it from their library.
The music video itself begins with the Apple logo and ends by telling users to listen to more U2 tracks using Apple Music.

Otherwise, fans were able to view the video in London yesterday (October 25), when U2 cruised around the city in “The Experience Bus”.
