UAE businessman Al Habtoor labels Trump “Islam’s biggest enemy”
A major Middle Eastern retailer has pulled all Trump-branded homeware products after the GOP frontrunner called for Muslims to be barred from entering the United States.

British Prime Minister David Cameron on Tuesday said Trump’s comments about Muslims were “divisive, unhelpful and quite simply wrong”.
Donald Trump’s name and likeness have been removed from billboards and imagery promoting a forthcoming golf course his company will manage in the United Arab Emirates. “I have done so much for Scotland, including building Trump International Golf Links, which has received the highest accolades, and is what many believe to be one of the greatest golf courses anywhere in the world”, the 69-year-old said.
Also, the Damac webpage dedicated to the Trump PRVT gated community, which is part of the development, appeared to have been removed, leading only to a “not found” page.
The proposal, offered in the days after the San Bernardino, Calif., terrorist attack which left 14 dead and 21 injured, was labeled as fascist by fellow presidential candidates of both parties.
Denunciations, however, also emanated from outside of these shores as Trump’s name was stripped from real estate holdings, politicians gave him labels like “a unsafe fool”, and one country’s citizens even signed a petition to ban him entry. “As such we would not comment further on Mr. Trump’s personal or political agenda, nor comment on the internal American political debate scene”, he said.
Products such as Trump Home Lotion Dispenser, Trump Home Decorative Table and the Trump Home Basic Jewelry Box were no longer available for sale on Lifestyle’s parent compant Landmark Shops’ website on Wednesday.
Last week 7DAYS reported that hoardings that previously carried photos of the businessman advertising Damac’s Trump-branded golf course and luxury villas stood bare on Umm Suqiem Road. Billionaire Khalaf Al Habtoor, who described Trump as “a breath of fresh air among usual suspects” in August, has since changed his view.
Trump’s comments, which are effectively hate speech, have been widely criticised by USA officials, with White House press secretary Josh Earnest saying his comment “disqualifies” him from being president, because every president must take an oath to “preserve, protect and defend” the U.S. Constitution.

Damac began selling Trump-branded mansions with a starting price of 6.5 million dirhams ($1.8 million) in March, the company said at the time.
