UAE to USA lawmaker: We have a right to enrich uranium, too
After the Iranian nuclear deal, oil-rich United Arab Emirates (UAE) might seek to change the nuclear agreement with the U.S. which didn’t allow the country to enrich uranium.

According to the terms of the 123 Agreement between the USA and the UAE, the two parties share materials, technology and equipment for the production of nuclear energy, but the UAE agreed not to engage in uranium enrichment or reprocessing within its territory.
However, Royce said al-Otaiba told him that the UAE “no longer felt bound” by those provisions of the agreement. They were taken into custody on October 7.
The UAE says the arrested teachers were only permitted to work in Dubai and no permission was issued for working in Abu Dhabi.
Iranian media outlets reported that 13 Iranian female teachers were also summoned to a court in the UAE due to same problem and may be arrested as well.
Deputy Foreign Minister Hasan Qashqavi is quoted by IRNA Friday as saying that the teachers, who were detained in Al Ain, were released but provided no further details.
“Similarly, the committees require the administration to provide any other information it may have concerning the intentions of allies with respect to their civil nuclear capabilities”, the letter said.

Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency said on Monday the teachers were having a “bad experience” in prison even though they had previously worked in Al Ain on their Dubai visas without any problem.
