Dalton, whose distinctive vehicle seems to have been identified from a surveillance video and witness descriptions, has no known criminal history.

The first shooting took place around 6 p.m. (7 p.m. ET), when a woman was shot four times in an apartment complex parking lot, Matyas said.

Four hours later at the KIA Dealership on Stadium, a father and son were killed while they auto shopped.

Snyder says the girl was part of a group returning home after seeing a play and “someone comes up and shoots them”.

Another victim at that location – a 15-year-old boy – was shot and critically injured, police said.

WOOD TV, a Grand Rapids station, quoted police as saying that they were investigating reports that Dalton dropped off Uber fares at a Fairfield Inn hotel. Kalamazoo County Prosecutor Jeff Getting said Sunday at a news conference. “The victims did not know him, he did not know the victims”.

Police have a “strong suspect” in custody, Kalamazoo Public Safety Chief Jeff Hadley told CNN affiliate WWMT.

Matyas said he didn’t have any more specifics on the victims’ genders and ages.

On Saturday, a presumed Uber driver opened fire outside an apartment complex, a vehicle dealership and a restaurant in MI. Police found a semi-automatic handgun during the arrest.

The prosecutor expects Dalton to be formally charged Monday.

Uber have confirmed the man arrested in connection with the MI shooting is one of their drivers.

He says having a gunman roaming your community, randomly shooting innocent victims is their worst nightmare.

He said Dalton was in contact with someone during the shootings, but would not disclose who. The woman urged everyone to stay away from Dalton in her Facebook post.

Chief Hadley said so far, there’s no clear motive for the shootings.

The four people killed outside the restaurant were identified as 62-year-old Mary Lou Nye of Baroda and 60-year-old Mary Jo Nye, 68-year-old Barbara Hawthorne and 74-year-old Dorothy Brown, all of Battle Creek.
