The announcement of Trip Experiences coincide with the company’s first hackathon event in Bangalore, India, where Uber has solicited developers to bring new ideas to integrate within their app program interface.

Uber has launched the Uber Trip Experiences API after the successful completion of its one billionth trip.
The ride-sharing app will work with third-party apps to let users unwind with music and be engrossed with news updates over the duration of their commutes. The content can be the same length as the Uber ride and customized by location – and the user has to give permission first.
For example, if Spotify knows you have a 20-minute ride, then it could generate a playlist of “morning jams” for your ride adding up to exactly 20 minutes.

Uber improves user experience with a new API which is capable of delivering all sorts of cool features. And as Uber faces price wars with Lyft and other rivals around the world, the company is looking to offer features that its competitors don’t have. The company has also tested package and food delivery in some cities, and is working on new technology including self-driving vehicles.
There is no shortage of mobile-based entertainment to distract you from the boring backseat of an Uber ride. Users can purchase flight and baseball tickets through United Airlines and StubHub respectively, while OpenTable helps riders make restaurant reservations on the go.
‘So today we’re excited to announce the launch a new developer feature called Uber Trip Experiences which connects riders with their favorite apps at the start of a trip when they may have some time to spare’.
Over a year ago, Uber opened its API to developers, allowing developers to include an Uber button into their apps.
So, in a move that serves both them and their passengers, Uber made the feature optional; however, the options it offers are quite tempting, at least some of them.

The feature will be available for Indian as well as the global developers and is being introduced to make the riding experience better.
