Uber tries to make it easier to find your driver
It is awkward when Uber users hop into someone else’s waiting Uber ride instead of their own, which can sometimes happen during major events such as concerts.

Uber said a thin SPOT device will be attached to the passenger side of a windshield.
Such situations could be what pushed Uber to release what it calls the SPOT technology, which is a new solution that will allow Uber drivers and riders to connect with each other amid crowds through the usage of colored lights.
Uber says when riders and drivers can easily find each other, we’re able to trim down wait times, which is a win for everyone.
Uber are now testing the SPOT feature in Seattle and, if popular, could be rolled out further.
If you fancy becoming an Uber driver but can’t afford a suitable auto, consider moving to Denver, Colorado.
But what if all riders around you choose green? When a Spot-enabled vehicle arrives at the spot, it will glow with the rider’s chosen colour.
Interestingly, the visual signal is not just restricted to a driver, but also to a rider, as their smartphone screen would light-up according to the selected color too. Or worse – tried to get into a vehicle that’s not even an Uber.

If Spot succeeds in Seattle, the program could expand to other cities. Uber adds that riders while waiting for the cars can also light up their phone display by pressing and holding the colour they chose in the app for Spot device, making it easy for the driver to identify the rider.
