Ubisoft offers discounted Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition for thrifty gamers
Ubisoft has released a Starter Edition for their first-person tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege, which offers access to the full game but heavily restricts access to the operator skills.

The only difference in the starter edition is how you go about accessing all of the game’s 20 original operators.
Don’t presume to view Rainbow Six Siege: Starter Edition as a hobbled version of the $60 retail package.
After overcoming a few technical issues at launch, Rainbow Six Siege has continued to grow, releasing a couple expansions, numerous updates and fixes, and is planning even more for fans with additional maps and operators still to come.
Launching on June 19, PC players will be able to purchase the Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition which comes with a much lower price tag, offers full access to the game, but slows down the rate in which players can unlock Operators. Players can then unlock two original characters, or one of the downloadable operative characters by spending the bundled 600 R6 Credits. To unlock the rest, you’ll have to grind 12,500 Renown currency per Operator-compared to having to grind between 500 and 2,000 Renown in the standard edition.
This special version – available via Steam and Uplay from now through June 19 – costs $15.

For the first time in a Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six game, players will engage in sieges, a new style of assault where enemies have the means to transform their environments into modern strongholds while Rainbow Six teams lead the assault to breach the enemy’s position.
