Uddhav Thackeray apprehensive about future of BJP-Shiv Sena alliance

Taking a swipe at the rivals, he said Sena has welcomed people from other parties, but it has always been “the party of originals”. It is an original party and has not depended on any national party for growing. The Shiv Sena on Sunday celebrated the party’s golden anniversary through a series of events held across the city. “My heartfelt greetings to party chief Uddhav Thackeray and the party workers”, Fadnavis said on micro-blogging site Twitter.

“So, it depends completely on the leaders as to what will happen with the alliance and definitely, if there would be an alliance in the Mumbai Civic polls, it would be a respectable one”, she added.

The main theme of the celebration will be contribution of the late Sena chief Bal Thackeray, a party release said.

It was voted to power in Maharashtra first in 1995 in alliance with BJP and in 2014 piggybacking on the BJP, besides a nominal share in power at the Centre under both NDA regimes, headed by then Prime Minister A B Vajpayee and now Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “I have no idea about the fate of our alliance [with BJP]”. We don’t want the alliance to break, but we will not under any circumstances accept a lop-sided tie-up.

Our friends in the BJP have also said such kind of statements.

So far, no party wants to take the blame for breaking the alliance.

Shiv Sena was doing lot’s of effort and work hard to get the post of our party at a present time, in the 1966 and at the present year 2016 they are completed 50-year golden jubilee for his party and it’s a big line for that and they are work for Mumbai and Hindu-nationalism. “You (party cadres) should be ready for the eventuality that we have to fight it alone”, said Uddhav at a rally in Goregaon.
