Udta Punjab releases in Pakistan against wish of producers
“As per my last conversation we had chose to not release the film in Pak because we found the cuts unacceptable but please confirm it with the producers”, Chaubey told a news portal. However, the makers have refused to make any changes, due to which the film will not release in Pakistan. But the journey of Udta Punjab is very hard, The CBFC levied 89 cuts on the film, complying with which would have resulted in the film losing its tone.

“This has proved that there is nothing like commercial or non commercial cinema, there is only good content and bad content”, Shahid said on the sidelines of International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards being held here.
At another shop, a worker said “Udta Punjab” DVD copies were in demand although it was illegal to keep pirated copies of latest Bollywood films.
Apparently, Mira was one of the first few people to see “Udta Punjab” and praise Shahid for his performance. The film is still moving with a great success rate and the movie is full of drama. However, these two films had much longer run and went ahead of the 70 crore mark. However there was one such tweet that made the actor’s day. Kareena Kapoor played the role of a drug rehabilitation doctor who was killed in the climax by the younger brother of Diljit Dosanjh.
The Abhishek Chaubey-directed film, which talks about the drug menace in the state of Punjab, was released on June 17 and has raked in Rs 52 crore in 10 days.
